What About the Children... Through the Eyes of a Child

What About the Children… Through the Eyes of a Child is a mental health awareness seminar created for parents, guardians, caregivers, and community members who support children.
This seminar highlights the importance of recognizing and nurturing children’s mental, emotional, and physical development. Participants will gain practical insight into how children process experiences, express feelings, and grow through different stages of life.

Our speaker Rasheeda Ouedraogo, Ed.S., NCSP is a nationally certified school psychologist and national speaker who supports children, families, and educators through a focus on mental health, resilience, and belonging. With experience across diverse school settings, she helps parents better understand children’s behavior, emotions, and needs through a practical, real-world lens.
Known for her interactive and engaging speaking style, Rasheeda creates experiences that invite parents to reflect, connect, and actively apply what they are learning in real time. She helps adults see children differently—offering tools and insights that strengthen connection, improve communication, and support children’s overall well-being.
Participants will not just listen—they will engage, reflect, and leave with tools they can use immediately.

Adults will attend a general session led by a licensed school psychologist, offering guidance and tools to strengthen the support systems surrounding children.
While adults are in session, children ages 6–12 will enjoy supervised enrichment activities, including art, painting, and plant potting. These creative experiences are designed to be engaging, expressive, and fun providing a safe space for children to explore and connect.
Together, this seminar encourages greater awareness, understanding, and intentional support for the children in our communities.
